If You right click the proper “DESKTOP” Folder *NOT THE ROOT ONE* It will come up with properties to “ADD A LOCATION”; “MOOVE TO” As Well as a few other options… I customized Placing The FULL DESKTOP On (4 example ); T:\Desktop folder and also *ENCRYPT’ing ALL THE FILES POSSIBLE Via Windows Properties ENCRYPT Full Folder* Makes Your DESKTOP safer from malware’s and they are also separate from the system partition in case disaster, As Well as tamper resistant if any of the Encrypted files fall into the wrong hands, said intruder aka “Thief of Your Media” can not decrypt any of the media files without first creating a dupe account in Your name that You created Your encryption certificate with and also they need Your personal password for the security encryption certificate key file, and if they don’t do those, then they have to hack in and spend decades trying to decrypt… enough said, Win7 encryption works, and works well it’s high enough bit encryption that no hacker great or small can ever decrypt the files… So place Your DESKTOP On A large dependable Drive’s Partition That has ample space for future expansion, Then once MOVED And Copied and The LOCATION IS Done, Your SET, Now There is a whole LOT LESS Worry of disaster striking Your ALL Important VALUABLE Priceless Media Contained Within IE: T:\DESKTOP And You see, Now Your not saving all to the system drive DESKTOP but To your IE: T:\DESKTOP, and now if You have to ever reinstall windows OS all Your DESKTOP is Good To Go, Just redirect The DESKTOP Folder To Your (IE:) T:\DESKTOP !!! A Whole lot LESS FUSS & Better Security *But make Sure Your Personal DESKTOP Is on a fast drive with plenty of space for future expansion* Better Yet spring 260$ For a Multi-Switch SSD (Solid State Micro-Chip Drive ) And do the above, Your user experience will be boosted FAR more than on a Legacy IDE Drive. So yes and if Your filthy rich spring for a set of four ( 4 ) Single Switch SSD’s and Performance Will Be At The Utmost Specially with: Core i7 x58 mobo and ddr3 triple channel memory ( I have 6GB and can expand & add 3 8GB ddr 3 triple channel modules to equal 24GB in my system.
